On February 1st 2018, Level 20 expanded to Germany with an inaugural launch event. The reception to celebrate Level 20 German Chapter was very well-received. It attracted more than 90 private equity professionals from the German speaking region.
Speaking in front of Frankfurt‘s skyline and a view over the river Main, Jennifer Dunstan, Chairwoman of Level 20, provided the context of Level 20. She was joined by Jeryl Andrew, CEO of Level 20.
Jennifer introduced the committee for the Level 20 Germany Chapter which has been co-founded by private equity investors Anja Bickelmaier, Dörte Höppner, Giovanna Maag, Martina Pfeifer, Michala Rudorfer and Laura Schroeder.
Dörte welcomed the guests and outlined the aim for the Level 20 Germany Chapter: attract more women to the industry across Germany and support women to develop their careers with a view to reach senior levels.
To achieve this, the Level 20 German Chapter will tailor existing Level 20 initiatives for the local market:
- Networking events from content-heavy breakfasts for smaller groups to larger events for all members
- Outreach programme for top business schools and universities
- Mentoring programme with male and female mentors
Cinven Partner Bruno Schick endorsed Level20 German Chapter with an impressive speech laying out why it is important and overdue to attract and retain more women in private equity.
Throughout the evening there was a real buzz in the room. We are excited about Level 20’s expansion to Germany.
